Street Smart Kidz – Valuables or your Life
“When children are put in a situation where someone is trying to take their stuff…give them up! Your valuables are not as valuable as you are. Give them your basket ball, your backpack, your wallet and then get away. Don’t fight for your stuff as this may only escalate the situation. This video talks about the importance of giving up your valuables and getting safely away.” – Produced by FuzzyFilmz for Street Smart Kidz. ~ Enjoy!
Skate Park
I was working on a previous video project listed below and I thought I could find some hateful graffiti at a skate park. Low and behold I wasn’t able to find any at all! What I did find was some very beautiful art. Quite amazing really.
The Heart of Hate
Verbal taunts of “That’s so gay”, graffiti displays of swastikas and other hurtful symbols, racial epithets called out of car windows on the streets of the Comox Valley are all ways of causing harm and pain to members of the Comox Valley community. And they are behaviours which the Comox Valley doesn’t accept.
Following the attack on Jay Phillips in July of 2009, over a thousand people assembled in the Sid Williams Plaza to express their disgust with the violent beating. When the case finally concluded in the courts, one of the three assailants was found guilty of hate motivated crime.
This video was created for the Dialogue on Sunday, March 13th in response to racism.
